The Ario Bigattini County (ABC) Rides are volunteer bicycle road rides aimed at locating illegal dumping sites on our cherished back roads. No one knows these actual locations better than cyclists with regards to county wide impacts. We need voluntary road bicyclists to join us on strategic routes to help spot illegal dumping sites and return to rid the waste with the help of the public works.
The ABC Rides would never have come into existence without the support, time and devotion from the numerous people who believe in preserving their backroads. Special thanks go to Santa Rosa REI for their time and GPS Etrex receiver donations to the ABC Rides, Soulcraft swag for raffle prizes, Camelbak hydrations systems and gloves for raffle prizes, Buff headwear and gloves for raffle prizes, Sports Basement certificates for raffle prizes, digital voice recorders donated by Xifter.com, Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition advertising and support, Petaluma Bicycle Advisory support, Sonoma Valley Cyclists, Eastside Cycling, Norcal Velo.
Sonoma County Waste Management Agency Director Ken Wells and ex-Petaluma City Councilman Keith Canevaro were instrumental in pursuing and convincing the county departments to commit to the ABC Rides. Special thanks go to our 24 hour machine, Yuri Hauswald, and Keith Marchando for being committed to the cause with their time, ideas and support in making the ABC Rides a reality. Of course, the rides themselves would not be possible without the leadership required of Jonthan Lee, Claire House, Paul Luca and thanks to the many roadies who join us.
Special thanks also to Friedemann Goldberg LLP for providing legal support in the form below.
